Let’s be honest—readers are some pretty swell people. We’re smart. We’re good looking. We get things done. But the reading life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows.
There are the occasional issues that pop up because of all those books in our life. Here are some common challenges any bibliophile can relate to.
- Waiting for the sequel to come out. (I’m looking at you George R.R. Martin.)
- Spending too much time (or money) on books.
- Papercuts.
- Sore eyes.
- The book mark that falls out of the book, losing your place.
- Spilling a beverage on your book (or e-reader).
- Getting too invested in characters.
- Back strain from carrying those heavy tomes.
- Not getting back the book you lent to a (now former) friend.
- Having a book spoiled fro you.
- Not understanding non-book people.
- When your real life interrupts your reading time. How rude.
Somehow we’ll get through this. Maybe there’s a book about how to get through it. I’ll add it to my (depressingly large) reading list.
